Beep beep beep beep
There is a pulse here, but it’s pretty weak.
The other day whilst in a train station I spotted a small dog urinating against a wall. After it had completed the deed it did what dogs sometimes do which was to scrape grass and dirt over the place of the crime with its hind legs. Only there was no grass and dirt because the dog was standing on a solid granite floor, but it scraped away anyway.
Ah, poor creature, I thought. It scrapes away at the floor after urinating because that is the program laid down in its brain by some whim of nature. It does not understand this program, it simply follows it, even when standing on a granite floor. How pitiful! We super-clever humans can watch this behaviour and easily spot that it is only a mechanism that is set in motion — like a wind-up toy — and that the intellectual input is zilch.

This weekend I finally got to see a real celebrity: Knut the polar bear.
Knut, born December 2006, has already had quite an illustrious career: he became a tourist attraction, a commercial success, was the subject of international controversy, has spawned numerous toys, and has now grown fat and seems to spend a lot of time asleep. It is something I aspire to emulate.
Outside my parent’s house. Picture the scene: My mother (six foot plus, German) ran into Tom Cruise (five foot plus, Scientologist) who was wearing a Wehrmacht’s uniform. She got an autograph.
TC, as his good friends call him, is currently filming his WW2 yarn, Valkyrie, in Berlin. For the past week they were filming on the street where my parents live.

… is the name of my new company. We are three founders in total. We have big ideas. Our website, which is going to be a a blog of sorts, is here: www.binarystone.de.
The past two years I have been working for an online games company: GameDuell. Now I am leaving to found my own company with two work colleagues. Hurrah! More to follow.
I should be writing a speech but am avoiding it by writing this instead.
This is my new blog!
In theory I could write a day to day diary of my life here, my musings on all the things I muse about, er… instructions on how to bake a really good cheese cake. Whatever I feel like. Or I might simply run out of things to write about and never touch this blog again.
Which will it be? I don’t know myself
